Lily White began as a grand concept that was whittled into a new form of storytelling for filmmakers Effie Spence and Stefani Lah. With no budget, the filmmakers created an experimental dance film that became the genesis to Effie’s return to dance and the creation of her style of filmmaking that she has coined “the feminine lens”, a play on the “female gaze” but from the perspective of creating stories from the Heroine’s Journey structure.

Skin + Blister was born during a dream while filmmaker, Effie Spence, was traveling Greece and producing her inaugural documentary, Waiting for His Hand. In her directional debut, Victoria & Spencer, filmmaker, Effie Spence, used an afternoon and two friends to create a memorable piece in two hours.
